The Nokia N95

The Nokia N95 is a revolution in mobile phone design. No longer do you need a separate mobile phone, digital camera, Mp3 player, satellite navigation and digital radio, this mobile phone combines all these functions in one.

As you would expect in today’s mobile phone climate the N95 is a 3G mobile phone and comes fully equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera that has auto focus & Carl Zeiss Lens. Gone are the days when you would take a photograph on your mobile phone and then struggle to see who or what was in it, the N95’s camera is comparable to some earlier standalone digital camera’s.

The screen on the N95 really is its strong point. With 16 Million colours and 240X240 pixels the colours are rich and inviting. The large screen is also a major plus point when viewing photographs and viewing web pages.

The sliding mechanism of the N95 is quite a novel design feature. The slider opens one way to present the user with a keypad for dialling numbers and the other way for the MP3 music player’s controls. One could say that this is a rather needless addition but it is funky nonetheless.

The Nokia N95 weighs a mere 120 grams, which is unbelievable considering all the technology that this phone contains. The dimensions are 99X53X21 mm, slightly thinner than its N80 predecessor.

The N95 comes with 160 Mb of internal storage, which is definitely required if you are using it to take photographs on the 5 MP camera. There is an expandable MicroSD slot that can take a memory card up to 2GB. These can be purchased for under £30 and are well worth the investment.

The Nokia 95 works over a Quad band network which includes GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900. This is therefore an ideal handset for the international traveller or businessman. The phone also supports HSDPA high speed data transfer, ideal for transferring documents between phone and PC.

The Camera also doubles up as a video recorder. Users can take videos of varying length depending on the amount of additional storage they have. The quality is particularly high considering that this is a mobile phone. The functionality is brilliant, even the worst of technophobes could operate it.

Overall this is a fantastic mobile phone and is available free on many mobile phone contracts in the UK. If you are looking to take on out a new mobile phone contract, this should definitely be on your list.
