Lambda introduces compact 960-watt modular AC-DC power supplies

Lambda in San Diego is introducing a series of power supplies that can supply as much as 960 watts, called the NV-700 series, which is suitable for high-density medical, industrial, and test-and-measurement equipment. The power supplies are part of Lambda’s NV family of environmentally friendly AC-DC power supplies. The NV-700 series is built on Lambda’s MRT (multiple resonant topology), which uses synchronous rectification to achieve the supply’s efficiency and reduce power loss. Units measure 1.6 by 4.92 by 10.8 inches, which makes them compatible with 1U enclosures. Input voltage ranges from 90- to 265-volts AC, 45 to 63 Hz with active power-factor correction. The supplies deliver 700 watts at 115 volts AC input and 960 watts when the input voltage is greater than 150 volts AC. NV-700 power supplies are available with nominal outputs of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, and 28 volts and with currents as strong as 40 amps. An optional high-power 5- or 12-volt standby output, remote on/off, and power good signals are also available. The series has IEC/UL/EN60601-1 medical approvals and EN55022 Level B conducted emissions standards, as well as IEC/EN61010-1 and IEC/UL/EN60950-1 approvals. The units also carry the CE mark.
